Ever since I started my blog, I have had the intention of incorporating an alcohol-related feature. In fact, the name OnTheRacks was actually inspired by my passion for both fashion and drinking (get it…like “on the rocks”). I mean, the two kind of go hand in hand in my opinion…
Well, the time has finally come for my first boozy installment. I will be hitting up my favorite New York City spots, sharing some fun facts that make each place unique, and including the recipe to one of their signature cocktails…this way, if you aren’t in NYC, you can make the drinks at home!
If you know me or follow my instagram, it will come as no surprise that I chose Los Feliz to kick things off. This Lower East Side tequileria is like my home away from home. Actually, it used to literally be my home – I lived right upstairs for a few months. Great vibe, best bartenders in town, and the drinks are amazing (as is the food, but let’s stay on track here).
I visit Jeremy almost every Sunday, which is probably my favorite day of the week at Los. He’s a tequila connoisseur, music master, and one of my closest friends. Jeremy will have his records spinning while simultaneously serving up joy in liquid form. Oh and ladies, he’s single! This week Jeremy made me a “Smoke One” margarita, which was all kinds of delicious. Stop in for one – you won’t regret it!
The Los Feliz Smoke One Margarita:
- 1 oz. infused jalapeño tequila
- 1 oz. mezcal
- 1/2 oz. sour mix
- 1/2 oz. pineapple juice
- Combine and shake, shake, shake
- Pour over ice, sip, and repeat!
