Got a little grunge for this Saturday morning shoot in my new neighborhood. I have been LOVING the quieter streets and quirky shops, bars, and restaurants in Williamsburg. Also fun to have some new scenery for capturing outfit photos! Change is good.

I cannot believe I am saying this, but the recent gloom is starting to grow on me. Perhaps it’s some kind of twisted San Francisco nostalgia…I hated the constant fog when I lived there, but now it doesn’t seem so bad. I also love that it is acceptable to pile on literally dozens of random pieces and head out in public. My New York “winter style” has certainly become an eclectic one!

Snapped these photos on one of my final afternoons as a Lower East Side dweller. Yep, that’s right, I’m officially a Brooklyn girl now! Moved into my new place on Saturday, and have been unpacking and organizing ever since. Not the most exciting way to spend a weekend, but I couldn’t be happier about this little apartment… and I have a brand new borough to explore!

Had some fun playing around with new silhouettes and textures here. Who says you need curves to wear a curve-hugging pencil skirt?! Love the asymmetrical ruching on this one from Cut25 – a brand that has quickly become my absolute fave. Took advantage of the warmish winter afternoon by sporting a crop top and going coatless. Can’t it just be spring already?!

There are few things I’d rather have on my body than a really good vintage tee. My friend Willis found this “South Carolina” one for me and I’ve basically been living in the thing! Paired it up with a vintage leather pencil skirt to achieve an overall worn-in look.

This week I have been preparing for my THIRD move in the past year. Apparently I have become some kind of metropolitan nomad. This time around, I’m ditching my Lower East Side one-bedroom for a quieter spot in Williamsburg (with a significantly larger closet). That’s right, this chick’s headed to Brooklyn! While always a fan of the fast-paced lifestyle, I’m definitely looking forward to having a home base that allows me to unwind a little more.

We’re only a dozen days into the New Year and it’s already going by so fast! With the holidays behind us and everyone settling back into their normal routines, I’m so glad to catch up with friends. Check out the oh so fabulous David here, he is always pushing the envelope. I mean how amazing is his cape?! So good.

Such a fun day of strolling/shopping/laughing around the Lower East Side. Made me realize I could definitely use a little more chillaxing in my life. Enjoy the weekend, lovelies!

“If you’re feeling blue, try painting yourself a different color.” -Hannah Cheatem (age 8)

During these dreary winter months, it is super easy to get in a clothing rut. Recently I’ve been inadvertently limiting myself to dark colors. Dark colors and lots of neutral, simple layers. While this is certainly a practical and appropriate way to dress right now, it never hurts to break the mold. As mentioned in my previous post, I am trying to push boundaries a bit more this year and be increasingly adventurous when it comes to clothing. Vibrance people…take a cue from Hannah, kid knows what’s up!
