

Over the past several months, I have definitely made some significant wardrobe adjustments – whether it has been to prepare my closet for actual seasons, or to sprinkle in some additional work appropriate pieces. To be honest, “work appropriate” has always been a term that’s made me cringe a little bit. I had the tendency to associate this genre of dressing with boring black suits, or shapeless dresses, more suitable for a funeral than a fashion blog.
After moving to New York earlier this year, however, it didn’t take long for me to realize that this mindset couldn’t have been farther from the truth! Each day I pass by hundreds of fashion-forward, professional women who, in their work chic attire, remind how way off I was in this train of thought. Not to mention bloggers like This Time Tomorrow and 9 to 5 Chic, whose inspiring sites I have become so completely addicted to!
So, let’s face it, I am going on 25, I work in an office environment, and I am not going to be able to get away with distressed denim cutoffs and cropped tops forever. That is not to say, however, that I ever plan on being a boring dresser, or giving up on my quest to create unique, quirky looks each day!
