Purple Haze

Pre-happy hour drinks, Blake and I took a quick stroll through Tompkins Square Park. Actually, I spent most of yesterday waking aimlessly around Manhattan, so opting for a light, swishy outfit turned out to be a pretty sweet move.
I love the vintage-y feel of this “jacket”, and the fact that it kind of looks like a nightgown. One of those pieces I was on the fence about before buying a few years back, but now I am so glad I took the plunge. Goes great over just about anything!
On a completely random note, I have been really into nail polish lately. I used to be one of those people who couldn’t get away with doing my own nails, due to a simple lack of skill. But, magically, my hand has steadied and I have been switching ‘em up every week or so! But enough about me…I wanted to find out what your favorite polish brands/colors are? I get so completely overwhelmed when faced with the enormous selection of shades in the store!
*head to toe: Karen Walker sunglasses, lace jacket from LF, sheer blouse from ASOS, Coach Classic basic bag, Banana Republic cropped jeans, Alexander Wang mules

Those mules are so sick. Love them!

OMG, you make me miss living in NYC, you never get over the feelings you’re experiencing. Ok, the outfit, all white, nice. The shoes are a great contrast. New fave polish color? I went for Russian Navy-OPI this week.

OPI is definitely my favorite- great colors and a good formula. One brand I’ve been trying recently is called Sinful Colors. You can find it at Walgreens and it’s $1.99. It’s not great on it’s own, but if you use a good topcoat (BY FAR the best= Sally Hansen Extreme), it looks and stays on just like a more expensive brand. It’s nice to be able to buy a crazy color but not have it be a commitment.

I usually don’t go out of my way with nail polish anymore, because of that overwhelming feeling. I take it as it comes to me. I do love Zoya though, I like Essie’s color selection but the actual formula is kind of terrible.
Love your outfit and the leopard shoes, definitely makes me want to wear my leopard shoes tonight but then I’d have to get a pedicure…not sure I can squeeze that in lol.

Kudos to your man for taking awesome pictures – you wear the clothes well!

So first of all i love this outfit – the leopard shoes are TO DIE, a perfect compliment! Second, wtf Thompkins Square Park!? Meghan and I were there just 2 weeks ago, with not a cherry blossom to be found. So gorgeous now!

Such a fun, effortless look. I’m also a huge Essie fan(atic). It’s becoming a bit of a problem. Last night I switched colors to one called “A Shore Thing” – kind of a greyish, baby blue color. Really fun.

Picking out nail polish can be overwhelming! I usually take my daughter with me to the stores…so she has been picking out the polishes. So the answer is easy…just have a kid! (lol!)

I reeeally love Essie in pastel shades. You barely need to do more than one coat and it comes out really…thick? no thats not the word. like it isn’t translucent at all after one layer, you know? I love those Wang mules you’re rockin, by the way! The “on the fence” thing happens to me all the time. It’s the pieces I’m skeptical about buying that I always end up looving the most! :)
