Over the weekend, Blake, Lola and I headed to Madison Square Park for some much needed nature and fresh air. After a quick stroll and a stop in at the puppy play area we anxiously made our way over to Shake Shack — most definitely my favorite burger joint in New York thus far!

I’d get into specifics of why I wore what I wore and yadda yadda, but let’s be real. I know where I stand when Lola makes an appearance on the blog. No hard feelings, though…the way I see it, I get to walk around with the world’s cutest accessory! :)

Oh, and she’s wearing American Apparel.

So, apparently I lucked out moving from California to New York amidst the wussiest winter ever. It already feels like spring! And these delightful temps couldn’t have come at a better time, given my eagerness to sport this floral denim skirt.

Also, I’ve said it once, and I will say it again — fanny packs should really become a thing. I mean what’s not to love? Yeah, this Coach Classic shoulder bag is adorable when worn how it was intended and all, but I still prefer my makeshift, hands-free version. Plus, this way it doubles as a belt…hello, two birds with one stone!

Blake and I are still making progress daily putting together our new place. It already feels really homey and I am excited to share the finished product soon(ish). TGI-almost the weekend!

Normally this much color in an outfit makes me borderline queasy, but, well, I was feeling springy. Maybe it was fall/winter overload after Fashion Week or the fact that I am just downright happy to be here in this amazing city, but the blue and yellow combo got me. Figured why stop there, and threw in a pop of pink for good measure!

I am finally unpacked, so Blake and I were able to enjoy a guilt-free weekend of sleeping in, eating out, and exploring our sweet new neighborhood. Gotta love long weekends and Mondays that feel like Sundays!  Hope you enjoyed yours. ♥

Just before heading out east, I had the pleasure of meeting with the very talented (and awesome!) Ken of How I Met Your Style. Blake and I are both big fans of their photos, so it really was quite an honor!

We spent a lovely afternoon sipping on mimosas and snapping pictures – both in my apartment and at some of my favorite local San Francisco spots. I feel so lucky to have these images to look back on now that we’ve moved…I know they will always bring back happy memories of the little home Blake, Lola and I built back in SF!

Survived week one in New York, and I have thoroughly enjoyed every single second so far. Blake and I are well on our way to furnishing our apartment…I am so excited to share the finished product with y’all once it’s ready! Walking anywhere and everywhere has quickly become my new favorite pastime – it is like a never ending adventure and I am coming across one cool thing after the next. I’ll just go ahead and say it…I ♥ NY.

Oh, and Fashion Week! Timing sure worked out on that front. With my never-ending to do list as of late, I wasn’t able to make it to as many shows as I’d have liked to. I was, however, able to get my fix with BCBGMAXAZRIA, Cynthia Rowley and Alice + Olivia (which all rocked). But the best part of NYFW, as always, was getting to see good friends and make some new ones!

Blake and I are settling in to our new home in Chelsea, and the hustle and bustle of Fashion Week is definitely keeping things interesting. Not that it would ever be a problem in this city…I swear, there is more and more excitement around every turn!

Wore this outfit to the BCBGMAXAZRIA show this morning, which was amazing. Lots of midi-length dresses in all my favorite colors – teals, burnt oranges, greens and maroons galore. Now I’m off to see one of my favorites — Cynthia Rowley. I have been here for almost a week, and it still seems surreal. I have never felt so inspired, excited, and ready to take on new challenges and adventures. Whatever they may be! :)

Greetings from New York! It wasn’t easy but Blake, Lola and I have made our way to the big city. We arrived on Sunday morning, after a day of scrambling to pack and a quick red eye, to find our new apartment just as delightful as we’d remembered it. Only empty! And so that’s where the fun began…

We majorly lucked out finding a place in Chelsea that happens to be steps away from a number of furniture stores. The past two days have been spent running around town shopping, and today won’t be any different! We’re quickly turning our empty nest into a sparingly furnished little spot, and it’s so exciting!

Couch, check! Mattress and bed, check! Coffee table, check! Today I am on a mission to get a desk and a sweet rug…then we’ll be in pretty good shape. Any recommendations for spots to check out?
