Headed off to visit my sister Daina in Santa Barbara…looking forward to a long drive down the coast and some QT with my #1 beyotch. I start getting antsy after too many consecutive weekends in the city. A few days at the beach = just what the doctor ordered.

Spent the weekend in Santa Barbara visiting my sis with Blake and Lola. We had an awesome time drinking mimosas, hanging by the beach, and talking late into the night. I’ve convinced myself that regressing to embrace my former college self is a good thing, on occasion — the excitement of a renegade trip is exactly what I needed. And I got to play dress-up with my sister’s clothes…major bonus! :)

I majorly <3 high-waisted short shorts. The floral print on these ones makes me so happy…and wearing them with a shirt that didn’t at all match made me even happier. Isn’t it weird how what you’re wearing can significantly impact your mood? Oh, clothes – you have such power.

Swung by our old stomping grounds at USF before pigging out on Hawaiian food at Hukilau last night. It is always foggy up there on Lone Mountain, but the view just can’t be beat. I used to cross paths with Blake here (totally crushing!), while walking from one class to the next…freezing and overcast as it was, it still made me long for college days.

Tonight was “date night” — quick stroll by the Ferry Building, followed by dinner and a movie. We saw the Bill Cunningham documentary which is hilarious and sad and inspiring…I highly recommend you check it out if it’s playing in your city.

I am dressing for spring, weather permitting or not (it’s not). This bold-patterned skirt instantly brightens my mood when I put it on, though! Worn as a dress here so as not to commit maxi skirt overkill, which I’ll admit I’ve been guilty of these days. Gotta keep it fresh, right? Monotony is a total snooze!

Spent a long weekend in Las Vegas…caught up with Blake’s wonderful family, got freaky on The Strip, and lost way too much money at the blackjack tables. Should I have spent the cash on something more important like a new purse? Probably. But hey, that’s the name of the game.

I’ve decided it is time for a closet purge, which happens to be a torturous act for me. Parting with my things is not something that comes easy, but our lack of closet space is no joke. Finding this skirt for $6 at Crossroads when I dropped off a bag of clothes has made the process a little easier. :)

I won’t lie… as fashion-frenzied as I am, jeans and a plain white tee may still be my favorite thing to wear. Snagged this Alexander Wang cape on Gilt months ago, and while I love it to pieces, it’s actually a bit tough to style. Found it works best with something simple.

My mom picked up this gem of a bag at Tar-jay for me last week…sure it’s a PS1 knockoff, but it was also $30 instead of, like, $3000. Thanks, Mom!

We’re fleeing to Vegas on Saturday, and I cannot wait for the weekend to arrive.
