NY State Of Mind

12 Feb

(photos taken by Christina)

I have been in New York for less than 48 hours, but what an incredible 48 hours it has been! Yesterday was spent at IFB’s Evolving Influence conference at Milk Studios, and it was a total wealth of information. Feeling excited and inspired to say the least. Bundled up in a new vintage coat to help adjust to the cold weather, but still basically froze my butt off. Shivering or not, I freaking love New York and am feeling very grateful to be here.

This afternoon I got to see the Rebecca Taylor and Rebecca Minkoff shows at Lincoln Center, and am digging the F/W 2011 trends so far. My feet are killing me, but I’m still on cloud 9. Stay tuned for more NYFW fun! <3

Stocked up on essentials over the weekend at the LF sale — sweaters, cashmere tights, the works! I think I am now almost ready for my upcoming New York trip. Guess I better hustle, considering I’m leaving in just two days!

My method for packing is not the best… I typically try and stuff as many things into my luggage as humanly possible (think sitting on top of the suitcase, contorting into strange positions in an attempt to get it zipped up).

This time I am trying something different. I’m going to plan out outfits one-by-one to try and save myself that “what the hell am I supposed to wear?!” spaz-attack two days in. We’ll see how it goes! :)

More photos from our Napa trip! It was supposed to rain this day, but clearly the weather gods were looking down on us. Stopped off for champagne and oysters at Oxbow Market and then took a quick stroll through the “downtown” area. It really was a lovely weekend. <3

Finally getting my energy back after being sick for the past few days, and it’s a good thing because I leave for New York next week! I need to bring my A-game if I’m going to be trekking through the snow in high heels. Eek!

Any suggestions on dressing for the cold?

Today was quite nice. Blake and I grabbed breakfast at La Boulange, tidied up our apartment, and are now burning too many candles, doing laundry, and waiting for Indian food delivery to arrive.

The rain subsided just long enough for us to snap a few photos. It looks like it’ll be starting up again soon — perfect timing for the lazy Sunday movie night we have planned. <3
