Last weekend I had the pleasure of co-styling and shooting with Thrifted for their November store update! In case you aren’t familiar, Thrifted is a kick-ass eBay shop that sells and auctions gorgeous, carefully selected vintage finds.

I had a great time, and got to take home this stunning silk poncho that I cannot stop wearing. Pictures from the complete shoot will be posted up soon – and there’s even a little something in it for you too! That’s all I’m saying for now though, so you’ll just have to stay tuned for more deets. ;)

Oh, and I almost forgot… Happy Halloween! Blake and I were very low-key this year. We stayed in with Lola, baked cookies, watched spooky movies, and drank wine. What did you do? And what did you dress up as?! Please share! <3

Breaking Boundaries

27 Oct

I think this outfit is kind of what California fall fashion is all about – long skirts, cardigans, and pumps. When it’s too cold for shorts and not quite jacket weather, something like this makes sense.

I found myself stepping outside of my comfort zone with this particular look, though. The tea length skirt is new to me… I’m typically drawn to pieces that elongate the legs, not stumpify them. And the heels?! Oh, the heels. They’re somewhere in between flats and pumps – a place I never thought I’d go! When I spotted them at Urban Outfitters last weekend, however, I was instantly charmed. In stepping outside of my comfort zone, I was pleased to find myself, well, surprisingly comfortable!!

That’s my favorite thing about fashion… it’s not about labels or having the “latest thing”… it’s about breaking your own boundaries, and exploring different styles! At least that’s what I love about it.

Cats and Dogs

24 Oct

The rain has been relentless the past couple days, so we’ve been staying in… enjoying movie marathons and junk food binges. I love weekends like these, where being lazy is the most practical option.

I totally have that warm, furry fall feeling. I cannot wait for the holidays, and Thanksgiving is just around the corner! Time to whip out the scented candles, pumpkin seeds, and mulled wine. Can I get a Y.U.M.?! I think a trip to Williams Sonoma is in order…

Hope y’all had nice, relaxing weekends! <3

Wild Thing

23 Oct

Hoss Intropia turban, FCUK leopard coat, Juicy Couture lace bodysuit, Dolce Vita shearling boots, Love Quotes scarf, Vince suede leggings

I have the animal print fever these days. Just ordered a furry leopard coat and I can’t wait to bundle up in it all winter long!

There’s nothing sexy about winter attire… I say add a little sass and wear something a risqué (like this lace bodysuit!) under a warm, layered outfit — even if nobody knows it’s there but you. And no cold-weather look is complete without high-heeled ankle boots and a warm fuzzy scarf!

Wild At Heart

19 Oct

It feels like yesterday was the 4th of July and tomorrow is Christmas… where have the seasons gone? I guess this outfit is my way of transitioning. Instead of altering my wardrobe entirely, I just combined summer and winter pieces. That’s what happens when the weather goes Schizo!

On a light, bright note, I have been looking for a reason to whip out this wild knit hat. And I think my new heart-print tights were like the cherry on top of a kamikaze sundae! Can’t wait to wear these with, like, everything. Brrr!

See Yourself in Siwy

18 Oct

Siwy has been one of my favorite denim brands for years. Designer Michelle Siwy has mastered everything from “comfy jeans” to stylish jeggings, and now after viewing her S/S 2011 collection, it appears she’s designed some pretty legit cargos and cutoffs, too.

I’ve loved the heck out of my low rise crops… I have one pair that are my go-to’s on lazy days, and another pair of skin tight black jeans that I’ve worn into oblivion (think giant hole in the crotch… and I still wear them).

I wasn’t able to attend LA Fashion Week to see their latest presentation, but my wonderful sister went and shot these photos. Can’t wait until these fun, wearable designs are available for purchase!

If you’re in the denim market, try these. I swear you won’t regret it!
