I gave in and bought Forever21′s wannabe Miu Miu’s. I’d have loved to splurge on the real thing but, well, $25 down is better than broke. They’re still pretty cute, no? Perhaps I’m just a sucker for sky-high heels!

I’ve been feeling ultra girly lately, which is slightly out of character — drawn to pink lipsticks and ruffles… that kind of thing. Figured I am a girl, after all, so I might as well embrace it! I must admit, there’s something strangely empowering about the makeup, mini skirt, and mary jane combo.

Spent a lovely Saturday with friends… running around the city, shopping, and… err… drinking. What that means is Blake and I are glued to the couch today watching Real Housewives re-runs. You know those days that center around deciding what unhealthy dinner to order in? Nothing beats a lazy Sunday!

I’ve been contemplating the J Brand cargos, but just can’t bring myself to spend $230 on pants I’ll be over in a couple months. These Blank NYC ones were the perfect solution at just $78! They’re comfy as can be to boot.

I’m counting down the days ‘til our New York trip! Cannot wait to see friends and go exploring. If you have a sec, I’d so appreciate it if you’d vote for my look in the Juicy/Chictopia contest! I am pleased to introduce to you two of my latest purchases/obsessions: this kick ass scrunchy skirt from Nasty Gal, and, drum roll, please… my Alexander Wang Diego bag!! I decided to stop whining about it and take the plunge. I’ll be paying this baby off for a while but it’s so worth it. We all need a good splurge every once in a while, right?

So I often complain about the weather here is SF because, well, it totally sucks. Until yesterday, that is!! The heat wave continued today, topping of at a whopping 94 degrees. People, this is unheard of around here! It finally feels like summer and I’m loving every minute of it.

Ok, off to have a glass of white wine on our stoop! Hot days are great, but hot nights are even better. <3

Can you believe this gorgeous background?! Blake’s family’s house is a block away from this charming little beach on Lido Island in Newport. I’d really like to live there when I “grow up”. We spent part of the day laying on the sand, and then caught the end of a sailboat race from one of the docks! What a wonderful weekend it was… *sigh*

p.s. Had my eye on this dress at LF for a while but thought it had sold out. The amazing ladies who work there made my day with a surprise phone call to let me know they’d found one in my size! They’re the best staff ever… fun, stylish, oh so helpful. I <3 you LF San Francisco!

It’s “stick your head in the refrigerator” hot out in Anaheim Hills where my parents live, and I couldn’t be happier. Being here makes me feel like a silly little girl again — it’s so nice to be away from all responsibilities and in a place where it actually feels like summer! Lola loves it too… there is a huge backyard for her to run around in and she has our big cinnamon lab, Cassie, to play with. If only these weekends could last forever!

I’ll never get sick of my Zoe boots. Blake got me these for my birthday last year and they’re still my favorite shoes! He really is a good gift giver… I’m lucky to have a boyfriend who picks up on my hint dropping.

We’re taking a long weekend and heading home to Orange County for a wedding. I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to three days of family, friends, and sunshine!  Plans for tomorrow include laying out by the pool for hours with snacks and margaritas by my side. More importantly, I’ll finally be able to put my summer clothes to good use! I feel as though I’ve been neglecting half my wardrobe.

Got this glittery skirt at the flea market a couple months back, and can’t believe it took me so long to wear it! I usually sport new purchases immediately, but just couldn’t figure out how to make this one happen…

When I found the Jetson-esque Pierre Hardy heels at the Barneys Warehouse sale, I knew it was a match made in heaven… just like bread and butta, baby.

Toned the look down with a plain white tee, and bam bam boom… a new comfortable and slightly bizarre outfit was born. (I probably should have worn a metallic leotard with silver lipstick and slicked back hair, but for now this will have to do.)

I guess you could say I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Just one of those days, you know what I mean?

Felt sick, looked like crap, got a bullshit $65 parking ticket, and on and on.

And then it happened… the sun came out for the first time in weeks – just what I needed to brighten my day. I chugged a kombucha, put on some summer(ish) gear, applied coral lipstick, and voilà!.. things are lookin’ up.

…sun, if you’re listening, please stick around… San Francisco needs you.

My parents have been in town, so the past few days were filled with delicious meals, good wine, and unbeatable company.

Spent a decent chunk of my weekend digging through discounts at the Barney’s Warehouse sale. My mom told me I needed new shoes, so that became a quick priority. Did pretty OK with two new pairs: Margiela and Pierre Hardy! You can barely see my platforms in this post, but I assure you that they’re pretty legit and this won’t be their last appearance on the blog.

On another note, I found out that SF is having the coldest summer in about 40 years… lovely. It’s only making me more excited for our NY trip next month, though – hopefully we’ll get to experience more reasonable temperatures for this time of year!
