Dead Ballerina
18 Jul
Blake and I went to afternoon tea yesterday at the Fairmont Hotel – I think it’s one of those things in the city that you should do at least once. It was super fancy, and truth be told, I felt a little out of place. But that’s not to say we didn’t totally enjoy ourselves!
We sipped tea and Champagne in the lovely Laurel Court Restaurant and snacked on mini sandwiches and sweet treats into the afternoon. The dessert plate was out of this world – so scrumptious and beautifully presented.
I think I ended up wearing this outfit to pay homage to my childhood princess tea parties. Whenever I try and dress super girly, though, I always end up adding a touch of the opposite extreme – black, smokey eye makeup and tough shoes in yesterday’s case.
Following our tea date, we walked around the neighborhood and checked out this crazy looking building. We’ve seen it in passing but have always been unsure of it’s actual purpose. I have heard gentlemen’s club and secret society –- could probably figure it out with minimal research, but I’d rather let it keep that mystique.

You look great!!!!!! love this look

Love your look. I am a big fan of mixing tough touches with a girly ensemble. I think my inner tomboy won’t let me go all the way princess pretty :) You pulled it together perfectly.
